Harold Raitt

Harold is a speaker, writer and filmmaker who has helped young people and adults around the world to become better orators. In 2004 he joined the English-Speaking Union, where he ran the London Debate Challenge and UK Schools Mace programmes. In 2007 he joined the UK’s world famous National Theatre, where he made documentary films about plays by Shakespeare, Brecht and the hit adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s novel War Horse. He was nominated for a British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) award for his Online Tour of the theatre, which celebrated the skills of everyone who worked there. More recently, he co-created the PiXL Club’s Up for Debate programme with the Noisy Classroom, is a faculty member of the World Schools Debate Academy, and has developed innovative new ways of involving young people in oratory and debate with his programmes at SeeHearTeach, SeeHearDiscover and SeeHearVote.
